Technical terms and related standards of professional sound engineering

To learn professional audio engineering technology, we must first understand the relevant technical terms and relevant national and industrial standards. Sound pressure level: refers to the logarithm of the ratio of the actual sound pressure and the reference sound pressure, in decibels. This is its mathematical expression. Its importance lies in the fact that this index is required for the sound production of all sound systems and the acoustic quality of all sound reinforcement places. In the later design calculation, it is also a calculation benchmark.

Reverberation time: refers to the time required for the sound pressure level in the hall to drop by 60dB after a stable sound signal is suddenly interrupted, in seconds. Its mathematical expression is as follows. It can be found that reverberation time is a parameter closely related to the structure and materials of architectural decoration. In practical engineering, reverberation time is an important index to verify the acoustic effect of hall building.


Sound reinforcement power: refers to the rated power required by sound reinforcement equipment when reaching the rated sound reinforcement pressure level designed by the system, in watts. This parameter is not very important in the actual sound control, but in the design and selection of sound system, it is the direct embodiment of acoustic index in electroacoustic parameters, and it will be related to the final cost of the project, so it is also particularly important. Generally in engineering, it mainly depends on the rated power of the speaker to reflect.


Gb-3947 is the interpretation of professional acoustic terms; gb-4959 is the measurement method of hall sound reinforcement characteristics; gyj-25 is the acoustic characteristic index of hall sound reinforcement system. They are two important national standards, and almost all projects need to take them as the basis in the design, construction and acceptance; GB / t14218-93 is the performance parameters and measurement method of electronic dimming equipment; sj2112-82 is the preferred electrical connection value of hall sound reinforcement system equipment interconnection. These two standards can play an important role in equipment selection and engineering test acceptance.
